SECREDAS (Cyber Security for Cross Domain Reliable Dependable Automated Systems) is a Horizon 2020 project funded by the ECSEL (Electronic Components and Systems for European Leadership) programme. It started on May 1, 2018, and it is scheduled to last three years.
SECREDAS aims to develop and validate multi-domain architecting methodologies, reference architectures and components for autonomous Systems for Automotive, Rail and Healthcare applications, incorporating high security and privacy protection while preserving functional safety and operational performance.
The project takes its start from the consideration that the technology involved in connected and autonomous driving can lead to risks on security, safety and privacy. Modern automobiles, pervasively controlled and monitored by scores of electronic components, are vulnerable to hacking, exposing vehicles to data theft and corruption and potentially to remote control.
A comprehensive approach is thus required to define standards and methods to tackle this emerging problem. SECREDAS will develop such framework and help to guide future development in the field and secure customer trust in the new technologies.
